However, Puff gave the actors permission to cut out sections of the play and the director Hopkins guides Puff and her friends through the severely shortened script. "The Soprano": (adapted from a French farce by Georges Feydeau) Mrs. Pacarel attempts to hire a soprano and then "sell" her to the opera house. Things get a little confused when someone else arrives and the whole family thinks she's the soprano.
